A delegation led by Li Qingquan, Secretary of the Party Committee of Shenzhen University, visited the Food Science and Processing Research Center.

On April 30, 2025, Academician Li Qingquan, Secretary of the Party Committee of Shenzhen University, along with Vice Secretary Wu Baoshui and Director of the Human Resources Department Gao Ying, visited the Food Science and Processing Research Center for research and guidance. Academician Wu Chi, Director of the Center, and members of the research team, including Distinguished Professor Li Lianwei, warmly welcomed and participated in the exchange.
At the beginning of the exchange, Academician Wu Chi extended a warm welcome to Secretary Li and his delegation. He then systematically introduced the three ongoing projects of the Food Science and Processing Center - potato rice, vegetarian meat, and whole-bean tofu - and comprehensively showcased their phased achievements in industrialization. After the discussion, Secretary Li and his delegation sampled the innovative products developed by the Center, including vege-meat, potato rice, and specialty foods such as "whole-bean series" rice-free fried rice, soy milk, and tofu pudding, experiencing the deep integration of science and technology with food culture through their taste.
Secretary Li praised the Center's achievements in scientific research innovation and industrial transformation. The center also offered a series of valuable opinions and suggestions: First, it suggested introducing the center's industrialized products into the campus canteen, allowing students to experience firsthand the charm of scientific research, appreciate the spirit of science in their daily diet, and be inspired to combine down-to-earth research with lofty ideals. Second, regarding the "whole bean series" community store model, it proposed introducing it to supported counties and districts, cultivating sustainable economic growth points for the local area through technology transfer and industrial support, truly "teaching a man to fish," and contributing to rural revitalization. Third, in terms of industrialization promotion, it encouraged research teams to break through campus barriers, actively establish extensive connections with the outside world, integrate resources from various parties, and promote the widespread application and in-depth transformation of scientific research results with a more open attitude.
The Food Science and Processing Research Center will take this research and guidance as an opportunity to remain true to its original aspiration and accelerate the industrialization of scientific research results; through deepening university-enterprise and university-local government cooperation, it will explore the deep integration of food technology and people's livelihood needs, continuously contributing Shenzhen University's wisdom and strength to the high-quality development of the food industry and the improvement of people's livelihoods.
