Prof. MING Haiyan received his bachelor's and Master's degrees from Tsinghua University in 1989 and 1994, respectively, and Ph.D. from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2001. He joined Shenzhen University in 1994, where he served as Vice Dean of the School of Civil Engineering, Director of the Office of Discipline Construction and Development, and Vice Dean of the Graduate School. He is currently the Vice Dean of the Institute for Advanced Studies and Executive Director of the Center for Food Science and Processing Research.

He has extensive and rich management experience in school development planning and the construction of a high-level university. He is primarily responsible for technology transfer and industrialization.

The mechanical properties, constitutive models, and numerical analysis of granular materials, including the interfacial dynamic characteristics of grain silo structures and grain particles, and the dynamic response of grain silo structures under seismic loading.
